TEACHING PRACTISE PHASE 1- FIRST WEEK

 Our first phase of teaching practice started on December 5 2022. This is the first week of teaching practice. School provided to ask for teaching practice was Government High School Mannanthala.

Government High School Mannanthala was established in 1887 and it is managed by the department of education. It is located in urban area. It is located in Trivandrum North block of Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. School consist of grades from 1 to 10. Malayalam and English is followed as a medium of instruction.

 

We were assigned to teach high school students both Physics and chemistry. We were given the topics to teach beforehand. Were given the permission to sit along with the permanent teachers in the staff room. The attendance register was already given to the headmaster. We have to attend the classes according to the time.


On 5/12/2022 Monday had a period for class 8. Topic metals was provided to me by the science teacher to teach the class. On this day physical properties of metals was to be taken. Is properties of metals such as my ability ductility hardness and lustrous method in this class. Various examples and videos where shown to the children to make the idea clear.

On 07/12/2022 Wednesday sub district Sahithya Kalashilpi Sargotdav hosted on Government High School Mannanthala. We were given a chance to actively involved in arranging and organising the programs. Where given certain duties including assigning halls to the students who came for various competitions invigilating writing competitions.





On 08/12/2022 THURSDAY I HAD A PERIOD FOR CLASS 8. Meaning portions on the chapter metals was taken in today's class. Meaning properties of metals like a thermal conduction, electrical conductivity, sonority, melting and the boiling point etc where taught in this class including various activities
On 09/12/2022 receive a gift from one of the students of the school a small flower.


On 10/12/2022 was the last day of this month for our teaching practice. I received a greeting card from one of the student wishing me Happy Christmas



16/12/2022 was our last day of teaching practise this month.

 This was our final week of Teaching practice Phase 2 Since the lesson plans were almost completed we got plenty of free hours to interact with teachers and students of the school. I carried out interviews for my Project work on these days. On 2/08/2023 I took Remedial classes for students of Class VIII on the topic acceleration, since after conducting the tests, those areas were found out to be difficult for the students. 3/08/2023 was the second last day for our teaching practice. We spend time with students of pre primary section.   4/08/2023 This was the last day of our teaching practice. Government High School Mannanthala will be always cherished in our minds. The students, teachers, and the school atmosphere will always be in our hearts. It was very difficult for us to leave the school, but we look forward for our bright future and thank each and evry individual who supported, guided and stood by us in this amazing journey

  DAY 3: SESSION 1 Guidance and Counseling-By  Smt. Umadevi G. (Freelance counselor, Ezhukone, Kollam) In this session Smt umadevi G has given us a smart guidance through explaining various problems(mentally)  of students. here she uses story telling method . overall the whole session was effective . By 12.30 session was concluded . SESSION 2: COMMUNITY PRODUCTIVE WORK By Sri. Shiyas Khan(Asst. Professor, in Visual Art, Kaviyattu College of Education) This session was very fun. we did a clay modelling still, a variety of clay modelling were done by whole class.
